Description: My nyala shot this summer in south africa with my 7.5" 454 freedom arms loaded with factory federal 300 gr aframe loads running 1650 fps. Entry thru right rear leg and bullet in offside hide on front left shoulder. Went thru 5ft of nyala and then stick blew thru shoulder and in hide. Perfect .67" expansion and retained wt of 288grs.

Great looking Nyala tradmark! 96% weight retention! can't argue with that! How would you compare its body size to other N. American game... from the picture it looks about like a caribou or cow elk? maybe 400 lbs?


just curious, because that is impressive that your bullet nearly exited after penetrating the entire length of the animal!

Shot him at about 40 yards i guess. Last night at dusk so when we came around the brush and the ph told me to shoot the one on the right and i pulled the trigger just as he turned to run whichnis why theres such a steep quartering angle

As far as size. Im 270 lbs in the pic so this critter was at least twice my size. Definitely bigger than any oryx ive shot and really close in size to the kudu my cousin shot

i'm doing half mount, so i get the pretty orange legs and beard. wasn't on my bucket list at first but very likely my prettiest antelope thus far. i was pleased.
