B, I`am I right in saying that the stag in NZ are like whitetail in the eastern US...

Thanks for your comments Franchise, and James if white tail are relatively common in the eastern US, I'd say this would be case with red deer here in NZ a close second would be fallow. Fallow tend to inhabit areas close to humans preferring grassland to feed, where as Red's more often than not frequent large tracts of forest both indigenous and plantation.
