Looking to purchase a BFR Bisley 44 Magnum 7.5 inch barrel.

Can?t seem to get a consistent answer from the folks at Magnum Research to my question of how much the gun weighs. Website says 4.8 pounds and emailed from them says 3.8 pounds.

Can anyone who owns this revolver shed some light?

I have the BFR you describe from their Performance Center. Currently it's wearing a scope but I'll take a guess the gun weighs closer to 4.8 without optic.

Want to install an Ultradot L/T.

Could you post a picture of your setup?

Definitely not 4.8-lbs. Here's my .44 Mag BFR and it's about a half-pound heavier than a Ruger Super Blackhawk. I would go with 3.8-lbs as the weight closest to reality.

An X-frame weighs about 4.5- 4.8-lbs.

Here it is with an L/T -- I will be cutting the snout of the base off soon.

I doubt it's even 3.8lbs, that'd be 60oz. They're a little heavier than a Ruger but not that much. A standard 7.5" Bisley is 51oz, the Hunter version 54oz. So at most, it's probably equal to the Hunter or slightly heavier.
