Nosler Varmageddon 308 calibur bullets

Description: I am thinking about putting one of these thru a deer's lungs next season with my 30 30 contender pistol at about 2400 fps. How do you think it will work?

Better selection of bullets out there, that'll serve you better.

NOW I KNOW "THE PLAN" BUT THE BULLET'S NAME DOESN'T MATCH THE TARGET GAME. I WILL DEFER TO THE GUYS THAT HUNT WITH 30 CALIBER HANDGUNS FOR ADVICE ON WHAT MAY BE BETTER.

"ADAPT OR DIE". I USE ALL CAPS, NOT BECAUSE I AM YELLING, BUT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD HABIT FROM MY ARMY DAYS, PLUS IT IS EASIER TO TYPE AND READ.

It might work. Ive killed deer with a lot less.

The 125gr nosler bt has a long standing reputation for the job. There are a few 125-130 gr bullets you could try. Speer, hornady, sierra......

From my own experience with using reduced loads in a 308 (2300-2500 fps) I'd consider the Speer 130 hollow point - works well on fallow and sika deer. Haven't tried the 125 Nosler they work well from what other NZ hunters have said.
