That was an excellent shot with a big bore like your 500 S&W.

Must admit it was a little luck involved. Right between the eyes at 112 had some wind drift (35mph sudden winds) that helped. Only had the gun about 4 days prior so worked up some 385 gr loads and sighted it in and to the alpine we went.

Ken, An old hunter once told me he would rather be lucky then good anytime.....
and after thinking about past hunts I have to agree. Luck or skill....I still have to say that you made a great shot. JFS

I agree with you, I have heard the luck is seeing the animal and skill is what is required to take the animal. Either way it was good venison.
