Description: These are some favorite loads for my 454. This is up ober 100fps from the factory winchester 260 gr loads, but at a significantly lower recoil and by all accounts its less than a factory hornady 240 load. Bullet is a 265 gr aframe. Load is under book max.

Nice! That is smoking!

That is about what I was getting from the MAX H110 load out of the Swift load manual.

In my FA 7 1/2 I would say it recoils pretty stiff!

Its not max. I get a bit more with case prep and my crimping technique to get a. It more combistion in the cylinder. It actually recoils no more than a standard hornady 240 load. The guys i had shooting it all thought recoil fell somewhere in between the barnes 250 factory load and the hornady 240 load

Interesting. I know you load a lot of 454 and do a lot of shooting, I would be interested in knowing your case prep and crimp technique if you are willing to share. you can pm me if that works best.

whats amazing is if you shot that load from a 10" FA`s your velocity would just about equal that from a carbine....this is single shot velocity from a five shot revolver......incredable
