That was my best group out of 9 rounds that I experimented with. My old load didn’t shoot to well after putting the Pac’s on there. I think the barrel could shoot a little better than that cold. The 52 HP’s were the last batch that I shot out of 5 experimental groups of 3. The only cool off time they had was the 22 Hornet being shoot inbetween every group.

TC, Is the 22-250 only available on the Encore frame?? That would make a hell-
of-a coyote rig....JFS

You are correct James, the 22-250 is only available in the Encore. The 22-250 looses about 400FPS in a pistol. Everything I have tried and read tells indicates, so far, that it does not like the higher velocities. I have a couple of powders and bullets still to try, if I already have them I am at least going to try them, but I am not going to complain about that group with a worm barrel.

If I had to do it over again, and taking a good look at my Hornady book, I would go with the 223 in the Contender. It will come VERY close to the 22-250 pistol data I have and do it with less powder.

That barrel has taken a deer at 25 yards, but there was nothing left of the head. And that is the OLNY place I would shoot a deer with that cartridge. My main hunting rig was down and that was my only back-up.
