I can't tell you how many times I've read this book and Mark Hamptons book Handgun Hunting. Hunting for Handgunners is getting to be a little hard to find now, so grab a copy while you can.

Tigg, I find myself picking up and reading this book about every 6 months since I got it. Have you ever read Al Georg`s "Pioneering Handgun Hunting"??

I read this book while in the hospital in April. Could not put it down. Awesome referance. I need to get Al Georg's book, but every time I see one for sale it's out of site for price. Amazon has a couple that start at like $250.00.

I also would Like to get Clair Rees book, "The Ultimate Guide to Handgun Hunting".

Have you read George C Nonte's book "Handgun Hunting"? Not a bad read from 1976. Lee Jurrus helped him write it. They did some "pioneering" of thier own.

I had a hard cover version of Nontes book, lost it, and bought a soft cover. Thats another volumn thats "dog earred"..I wrote to Mr. Rees and had him send an autographed copy of his fine book. However, I have to say that after reading some of the ballistic material that the guys on this site have researched , a really informative book on handgun hunting could be written from the pages of this site......With all the pioneers of handgun hunting I would have to say that Al Georg`s the man who put handgun hunting where it is today. He scoped handguns, improved existing factory ammo for better terminal performance, handmade a single shot handgun from a rolling block rifle and best of all he wrote about everything he did.

James, I'm impressed with Goerg's innovations too. He really did a lot to advance handgun hunting. One of my favorite things he came up with was his "Bone-Breaker Special" bullets. Not that high tech, but it solved the problem at hand!
