Yall are lucky in SC. We can't hunt with guns here in NC until mid October. Our bow season is still several weeks away.

Yea, its pretty cool shooting firearms for velvet deer. This is my first hunt on the new lease and the first velvet deer I have ever taken. I was shooting Hornady 460mag 200gr.

I'm thinking, moving to S C might be something to think about. Nice deer. I've hunted S C a lot in the past. How many deer are you allowed now a year?

I don't remember what the state limit is but I know it's more deer then most people should shoot. My club allows three bucks (8 or better) and three does per member. I have only been up twice but there seems to be more deer in the low country of SC then I have ever seen before. Driving back from your stands you almost need a dedicated spotter to keep you from hitting them crossing the road. I can't wait till September when I get back up.
