Nilgai Bull

Description: I used my 416 Barnes Competitor Single Shot pistol with a 340 gr. Woodleigh PP Weldcore bullet to take this Nilgai Bull. 65 yard shot. 1 shot. Facing me, slightly quartering. I hit him where his neck met his shoulder on the left side, recover bullet in the right ham towards his hock. Around 5 feet of penetration with an expanding bullet

Russell, this is definitely one game animal that every handgun hunter needs. A big bull is tougher to put down than any wild boar...yes...any boar. They are just as delicious as Axis deer & at 575-600 pounds you get a years worth of excellent venison.

Chance, these were the results that I was expecting. From my own testing, and talking with both Woodleigh & Competitor, this is what I thought the results would be. I was surprised the Bull went down as fast as he did. I've seen them take 5 50 cal. 400 gr bullets before and keep getting it. I read that on the last HHC gathering that Gary Reeder shot one 4-5 times with one of his revolver conversions. Shot placement is the most important thing and then it comes down to the right bullet and sheer horsepower 😉
