DSC03376
Late season fox squirrel

Description: The 22LR Match Contender, Weaver fixed 6X and Winchester 42 Max Subsonics are deadly on squirrels from 55 to 70 yards...knocked this guy of a branch at 68 yds. I like to sit out in the open field and wait for them to start moving through the hedgerow.

Good shooting - most people wouldn't believe you could hit a squirrel that far away with a pistol much less head shoot him. We handgun hunters sure don't get the credit we deserve very often.

Nice!

How do you like that scope? I've considered getting one. Is it clear to the edges? Reticle thick or thin in the center for precise aiming? Are the turrets finger adjustable, or do you have to use a coin?

ZEE
I like the Weaver 6X a lot. I mounted it on the 10" 22LR barrel just out of curiosity since it seems better suited to a 14" tube, where it usually lives. If you know that you'll be shooting small game at 50 yards or more , it works very well. The objective is 38mm which makes it compact and light. It is bright and clear for my 65 year old eyes and has a fine duplex reticle in the center. You'll need a dime for the adjustments. I like to keep things simple...single shot, fixed power, point and shoot! It was reasonably priced as well!
