Russell, that is beautiful! Is the 457 GNR based on the standard Linebaugh case or the Max?

It's based on the Max case which is getting hard to find. It can also be made by cutting a .45-70 case to length and fire forming. I run .350gr Hornady SP's and 400gr cast, but could go heavier if I so desired. The cartridge was designed to give .45-70 ballistics out of a long barreled relvolver.

James, I bought this from a fella who had bought several of Reeder's guns in an estate deal. He knew nothing about it and I thought I was getting the cartridge Gary designed off of the .475L case to compete with the .454casull w/o the blast and recoil. Needless to say......
