H&R Break-Open .22 Rimfire Revolver

Description: A break in the action during an elk hunt @ the Vermejo Ranch just west of Raton, New Mexico. A buddy & I were bunking up @ the NRA Whittington Center in Raton & took a foggy afternoon off to give the chicken silhouettes a workout w/ the .22 revolver. If you guys ever venture over Raton-way you owe it to yourself to check out the ranges @ the Whittington Center. You won't be disappointed...!

Looks fun but cold!

How is the elk hunt going; reports? A friend of mine, Dwayne, used to be a guide there (then he started his own outfitting business) and he told me the hunting is great there and some giants come off that huge ranch.

Another friend, Grant, still guides there last I talked to him.

I should have pointed it out earlier, but this picture was from a trip we took in 2007. We seen some really nice bulls, but we had cow tags only - which we filled. You're right - it is a huge ranch. Lots of big elk, mule deer, & wild horses. As I said, we were hunting on the Vermejo Ranch - but back in camp @ the Whittington Center John Barsness & John Nosler, Jr. killed a couple of real nice bulls up in the mountains behind the ranges w/ prototype versions (at that time) of the Nosler Model 48 rifle. They just happened to be hunting the Whittington Center at the time my buddy & I stayed there...
