Description: 8 point buck I shot while still hunting in Alabama 01-02-2012. Used my trusted 35 Rem Contender at a distance of about 70 yards.

Congratulations on a nice 8-point! What load were you shooting out of the 35?


I miss hunting AL - we used to take a trip there annually in January, the Carolina season was closed and the rut was just getting cranked up in South Alabama!

Thanks guys. The bucks were on their feet this weekend and I caught this guy chasing does. I used a Federal 200 grain factory load. The bullet broke his onside shoulder, split its jacket and stopped just in the offside skin at the last rib with a 10" blood shot area. He ran about 40 yards.
