Me, Cottonstalk, and My Bear

Description: This is a picture of Cottonstalk, Me, and the unfortunate bear who made the acquaintance of my .500 Linebaugh SRH on Monday. We hunted with a pack of plott hounds and I can think of no more fun or challenging way to hunt than with hounds. I feel very fortunate to be able to hunt with these guys.

Everyone goes in armed, James. That rifle belongs to the owner of the dogs (most of them anyway). Cottonstalk was packing a .475 SRH you may or may not recognize. Everyone carries.

Hey, I didn't take offense! The bottom line is that he doesn't shoot a handgun well, so he "needs" a rifle -- LOL!

what are your plans for him? rug? half mount? Full mount? lol
The bear I shot a couple years ago was a little on the small side, so I couldn't justify spending the money for a rug. I just had it tanned and hung it on the wall. still looks nice and was way cheaper. Yours is a fantastic bear though

That is AWESOME! I can only imagine how much fun that was. I bet that is a pressure filled shot, with the dogs and others safety to worry about. Great job! I bet most things would "shudder" when hit with that chunk of lead @ 1100 fps.
