North Carolina Sow

Description: This is a sow I shot in North Carolina with my .500 JRH BFR, loaded with 350 grain JHPs. She tasted great in the crock pot!

Whit, You made a perfect shot with your 500. I guess the internal damage was severe....Hopefully
someday we can get together and hunt some boar.

I would like that, James! Damage wasn't so severe and in fact appears as though the bullet didn't open. I double lunged her so it really didn't matter that much.

It was the exit -- wasn't a particularly big wound, just a lot of blood.

Nice Whit! Was that first blood on your JRH BFR?

Is that a factory load out of the JRH?

Thank you much! Actually, it was the third hog I took with it. Yeah, it was a factory load from Grizzly Cartridge. This is the load that shot under an inch at 50-yards (5-shot group) -- extremely accurate! Actually all of their .500 JRH loads have proven accurate.

Nice! Don't waist that in the crock pot; that's just right for the grill!

KRal, I can't grill it all! Some goes in the crock pot, some in the smoker, some on the grill.....I have a lot of pig meat in my freezer!! LOL!
