148" 10 point ,my best handgun kill so far....

Description: I shot this little guy at 32 yards as he was book'in it through the woods,I hit him through the shoulder-both sides and he went another 60 yards before laying down.I had emptied the rest of my cylinder/not knowing for sure if it was a kill shot or too far forward, his head was still raised and he was behind a small tree(90 yards) with only his neck showing,so being as careful as I could I squeezed off a shot with my Ruger Blackhawk-.357 mag./iron sights/ and hit for once what I was aiming at/hit him right in the neck and that was all she wrote. After viewing where my Casull hit him/he was dead already and just didn't know it,but we hunt next to other hunters on the adjoining property so its better to keep shooting to make sure they don't make it on the other ground. The round through the shoulders was with my S.R.H. in .454 Casull,Hornady 250gr. X.T.P.-33.9gr. of H-110 for a speed of 1520 F.P.S.

I was about to have a heart attack but was praying the Lord would give me a kill shot on him and I think the Lord musta felt a little sorry for me hearing my wimpering and let me have him!Believe it or not the buck wasn't by himself,he had a doe he had been tending and she was as big/body size(dressed 210) as he was but I had my sights on putting him down so I ignored her.The reason the buck was hauling is because my dad had been on the other side of the creek pushing through the brush ,seen this deer and his doe and not realizing how big the bucks rack was had passed and as he was walking further he noticed how big he was and took a shot at 60 yards which didn't touch him.So dad crossed the creek trying to get back on him and pushed him/her right up to me,gotta thank my pop again, and this guy is 67 years old/he was an allstate basketball player in 1962,played a little colledge ball and some pro games but the money wasn't there in those days, anyway I'm glad hes still so athletic it really benefits me/I do happen to push a few deer his way also so its not all one sided-L.O.L
