4-30-101
500 Linebaugh Beast

Description: This is another pic of my 3.5" 500 Vaquero. It had been cold blued but since I finally got my tanks set up I took the barrel off and blued it and cylinder. I also installed a new front sight courtesy of Fowler. The sight was originally intended for FA type ramps but I modified it and soldered it in. This gun is a handfull but will stop anything that breathes in it's tracks.

WOLF… I’ll pass on shooting that little beast!

Nice job. Is that a “sheriffs” model with the 3.5 barrel?

TC I guess you could say that's where I got the idea but I don't think Wild Bill or Wyatt Earp either one would touch this thing. Wink

Very nice work, but I don't know if I'd want to shoot it!

Guys just because you can shoot wrist breakers in this beast it does not mean you have to all of the time! A 440gr LFN at 950fps is manageable to shoot and still will blow through anything in North America!

I want a 4" adjustable sight version...

Fowler I've been playing with some different Ideas for adjustables on the Vaquero unless your meaning a Black Hawk. I've seen them with dovetailed rear sights to adjust for windage but I think I can mill it for a smith and wesson rear or I'm also going to order one for the Target version of Remington 1858 as it looks in pics like it may work better.

Fowler,I agree.I've been shooting 10 gr. of unique under a 440 flatnose(Lee)in my Encore .500 S&W.,one of John Taffins recipes, its suppose to be 900+,havent chrono'd yet. That'll do the trick on any deer and its very comfortable shooting.Full power 440's do nasty things to scopes!
