Very nice Blue Bull...

From what I`ve read you need a big caliber like your 50AE to take down one of these bulls.

The Nilgai are very hard to put down. I used a 335 gr. penetrator style bullet at about 65 yards. The shot was behind the shoulder and the Blue Bull went staight down. I couldn't beleive it. There was complete penetration.

James - You should shoot a Nilgai like this in addition to Water Buffalo in Dec. You can shoot it with one of my Competitors. LOL

Your Right David, James ought to be able to hit the Larger game animals. He could use my .460 S&W Encore for the one shot feeling. LOL

Jeff, if James shoots one of our single shots he would end up trying to buy one before he goes back to NJ. James really likes powerful rounds and we both know that the single shot platform is the BEST for harnessing really powerful rounds! LOL We will end up converting him to the GOOD side side of the force.

They are evil looking creatures! I really want one on my wall -- nice work, David!

Bringing this pic to the top from way back as I've never seen it. Great trophy David! I've lived in Texas pretty much my entire life and grew up in South Texas, and I've never killed one. They are really high on my bucket list with a handgun. Some of the best eating meat there is, too!

I agree Randy! To me, it's better than Axis deer. I've killed 2 big Blue Bulls, both with 1 well placed shot, one with a 50 AE & one with my 416 Barnes.....they are big, tough and wary.....I remember Ken Wilson shot his with a 416 Remington Mag and a 400 gr bullet, and he said that he needed every bit of it.......challenge accepted.....I killed 2 with handguns.......to me, this animal and a big Aoudad, are the 2 best kept secrets in handgun hunting....
