475 and boar

Description: Finally used my FA 475 and 400gr XTP ammo to take this small Euro. boar. Had a old Pentex
1.5-4X but the elevation adj.bottomed out so the bullet was hitting 4" high at 50yds.I aimed low and missed the lungs but caught the liver. The 475
is one hell-of-a round....We were trying for a bigger boar but they were holed up in the thickets, could not see past 25yds and should have had snow shoes as it was 2 to 3 feet in some places.

Hoo Yaa!!!!!!! About time that that gorgeous piece of art got some loving! Fine pig James, just make sure your faithful 454 doesn’t get jealous. And if it does give me a call… we well see what we can’t do about that. LOL

James
You can come down here and we can shoot those pigs and then we can hang out in the 80 degree Temp --- go fishing or just have a cool one. I like cool but I do not like cold! I have some nice swamp pigs in my sights.

Nice pig too much snow!

Nice hogg! Good to see you breaking in that new piece the right way. I'm assuming it was a clean pass through. How'd the 400 xtp perform?

The 400gr blew right through the boar. With the muzzle brake installed, I find the FA`s 475 to be a tremendous hunting combination.
H20- it would be difficult to explain how cold it was that day.Let me just say that we parked ourselves under a big pine to get out of the wind and wait out the boar.
