Tennessee boar with my .44

Description: A short notice trip to a Tennessee hunting lodge produced this boar. We were hunting with dogs, and I shot this guy bayed up in a creek facing me. A bullet between the eyes from 20 yards made for a quick hunt. The 240 grain Federal Fusion continues to impress me. The bullet completely penetrated the skull, reentered the front of the shoulder and damaged the vitals, likely stopping in the heart, unrecovered. That is a sign of bullet integrity.

Great shooting! I used that same load to kill a couple of deer in 2018. I was shooting it in my 14 inch contender and it grouped under a inch at fifty yards.

For me, the Fusion checks all the boxes. It is accurate, it expands, it penetrates, and most importantly, it KILLS. A single bullet convinced this boar HEAD and HEART.

That background looks like some of my old stomping grounds. Good chase and good hog. Good looking gun too.
