North Carolina Meat Pig

Description: Shot this barbeque hog in North Carolina at Hog Heaven Outfitters (my old stomping grounds) and shot the first hogs there in the daylight (we always got them at night at this location). Shot was about 30 yards off sticks with my .460 BFR loaded with Buffalo Bore 300 grain JFPs. The revolver has a fixed 2x Leupold up top.

Yup. There is blood on it now and despite the size of that hog (it was about a 60 pounder give or take), that is one decisive round.

Looks like a very well placed shot! Any particular reason you mounted a scope on the new BFR instead of an Ultradot?

My goal was to create a revolver that can reach out and touch something at a longer range (I?m thinking whitetail here), that can double down as an up close and personal hammer. That scope is on quick detach rings and I also have an Ultradot set up for it. That said, the scope is coming off. With that long eye relief, the scope is clearly inferior (for me) for fast acquisition and running shots, not to mention fast follow-up shots.
