Description: I just picked up a new Contender in 223 with a Burris 2X7 Scope. Overall it's in great shape with a few minor blemishes. I disassembled it today and gave it a good cleaning and lubed it up.
I got rid of the flimsy old weaver scope base, and installed a shortened picitinny rail with three rings. Now I'm ready to check the scope that was supposedly sighted in for the Hornady 55gr. V-MAX bullets that I got in the trade deal. I'm planning on giving this combo a try for this up coming turkey season.

That will be a fun gun. You mentioned that you lubed it up when you cleaned it. You probably know this, but lube on a Contender bolt can cause the action to pop open when fired.

Thanks for the lube on bolt heads up. This Contender was bone dry when I got it, like it never saw a drop of oil in it's life.
