That's great news! I've got some 140 factory loads I will try in mine. For the money I don't think a person can go wrong on the CVAs unless you're needing a switch barrel. Deer, coyote, and groundhogs are what I wanted mine for. I've got other guns for small game. I've got an Optima BP pistol for ML season also. Thanks for the info. You guys on here are always helpful and I appreciate it.

Artemis444......I've got a 2x6 scope and a Little Bastard APA brake on mine. No noticeable recoil with 125 grain Win. factory loads. The brake does create a lot of noise though. I'm going to try some Rem. 140 CLs next chance I get. Hinterland Outfitters still had a few in stock about a week ago.

Ernie.....I haven't figured out how to post photos on the forum. Actually, I haven't really been measuring groups and keeping notes on loads, etc. I have just had a chance to shoot a few rounds and sight the scope in and let a couple friends shoot it. When I have time to test a few loads and compare them I will try to give more info. I'm planning on hunting deer with it in Nov. and hopefully will have a hunting report then.

Although I like the CLs I do not like Remington ammo. I would rather roll my own. I have never found Remington Factory fodder to be that accurate.
I am with Ernie... I would like to see some field reports

Guys I'm almost 68 years young and have never reloaded a bottle neck round. I have and do reload for 44 mag/spl, 357mag/38spl, 40 S&W, 45acp, 45LC, and 9mm. I have owned 500 S&W, 460S&W, 357 max, 223, and 45/70 in handguns but not reloaded for them. I had Contenders and and an XP-100 in the past but got into shooting IDPA, PPC, and Bowling Pin Shoots for a number of years and hunted with rifles. Last year before deer season I decided I was going handgun only! I used a CVA Optima pistol and scored on a doe in the ML season and killed a small buck and a doe with my 4in. N Frame S&W 44mag. I had killed groundhogs, crows, fox, and other small game, including squirrels, with a handgun but never a deer. I bought a CVA Scout handgun in 243 and a 6.5 CM to give me more range this year during deer season. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I need to be listening to you guys concerning hunting and reloading instead of the other way around.

I have wanted to try handgun hunting for a while so I purchased one of these little jewels the other day. Out of curiosity, what is everyone using for a scope/RDS?
