Switching XP100 to a center grip

I recently got a screaming deal on an XP-100 in 7mmBR that is bedded in a walnut rear grip stock. I'd like to use it for deer and javelina hunting. It also came with an HS Precision center grip stock that has never been used. I'd like to switch to the HS stock, but don't have the original factory trigger (and linkage?) for a center grip configuration. What do I need to convert it back to centergrip? I'm guessing a new trigger (?) and some kind of linkage? How hard is this? I have switched rifle stocks before. Would a "take off" from someone else's center grip work or is there fitting to be done. It needs to have a safety.

The current trigger is 1.5 lbs. It's beautiful, but for hunting I'd want to carry with an empty chamber (which is no big deal for long range stuff).

If it was previoiusly a mid grip you will need the trigger and linkage. It is a shame that the previous owner did not preserve those parts, but someone else who converted one may have them. You can try to post a WTB ad in some forum classifieds. Not sure if any of the gun parts suppliers like Numrich or Brownells carry that stuff.

I would try numrich.com they have schematic drawings of everything you would need.

Unfortunately the previous owner may have taken the linkage to his grave. I bought it from a friend who was liquidating an estate for the widow. There should be someone on here who converted to a rear grip and has no plans to convert it back.

I will look tonight in my parts stash. I know I have two centergrip trigger assemblies but not sure if they are complete. I will let you know.

Is the recoil lug slotted with screw holes on each side? If not then you will need one of those also and the headspace checked after installation.

I talked to the guy I bought it from today and he is going to check if he has the original trigger and linkage. He didn't think so, but I'll wait a week or so to see what he says. I do want to switch this if I can get it without too much money. I did email Ernie and he helped. I need to take the stock off and see what I find. I wanted to shoot it first and did that today. Shot 4 3-shot groups. Without trying very hard, I shot a 1-3/8" group at 100yds which was impressive for someone who normally only shoots 1911s.

I'll look at the inside and see what I have and wait a week to see what my friend can find.

Gary look for my articles in TX Trophy Hunters mag and TX Deer Association magazine. Hawkeye, I'll let you know if I need one. I'm not even sure what parts I need as far as misc pins etc. Thanks!
