A highpower shooters mat and an elbow pad will go a long ways towards your comfort.
2 or 3 relays shooting my XP-7/08 with 168SMKs on our gravel line was uncomfortable to say the least. Bought a mat and a pad and shooting became much more enjoyable.

I was also think of going to a smaller cal. Amd a little lighter single shot handgun for IHMSA shooting. ANY suggestions? I want to keep my Striker for Elk hunting. But the 5+ lbs. Is heavy shooting matchs with it.

You are fine. Do not bounce around. That is a wonderful gun. Get rid of rug rash and keep going, you and the gun can shoot a 40.

430RUPE,I had a T/C 14 in 7TCU with a Wichita 4 position rear sight that was sweet.
168SMKs over 4227 if my memory serves. Recoil is zip.

I don't think I'm man enough to ask Mrs. Rupe if I can buy another gun right away, so I'll stay with the Striker for now. I'll see about trying some of those 168 gr. SMK's and 4227 thanks guys! Rupe
