Yeah Tyler's pick seems like what I would go with. I used to think headshots were safe until I botched one...I'll save those for squirrels and turkeys from here on out.

He can't go anywhere if his shoulders are busted up good. I recently found an unclaimed deer (doe). I kept the skull to show people that try to convince me of head shots. It was grazed across the top exposing the brains - that deer had a long aganizing death. Also, put one out of a doe's misery a few years ago when she came to me without a jaw. Needless so say, I STRONGLY recommend against head shots. It's our responsibility to make a clean one-shot, humane kill.

From the tip of the grass I would center the cross hairs back a few inches and go right through both shoulders. A 260-300 grn Nosler HG Partition from a 454 should do just fine for that big boy.
