So my girl friend want's a gun, specifically a "police gun." She shot my .40 for the first time this weekend and is now really wanting a gun. I think I have convinced her that she wants a .22, less noise, recoil, and cheap to shoot.

So what should I look for? I have heard nothing but bad things about the p22, mosquito, and various 1911 22s. Don't want to spend too much but quality is important.

Bud's Gun Shop had a EAA (CZ75) full size steel frame 9MM with a 22LR conversion kit for $419--that way she could shoot both 9mm and 22LR from the same gun--both would almost be zero recoil from that platform

Be a hero and buy her this from Smith's performance center and then add a Bob Marvel 22lr conversion. Tough as an anvil and accurate as well.

I'd give this serious consideration for a dedicated 22lr 1911 platform.

I have no complaints about my Ruger 22/45s except for the triggers. A quick trip to Rod's fixed that. The two that he fixed for my grandsons have almost match quality triggers & shoot quite accurately. However, I do not know if they will qualify as "police guns."

Thinking real hard about one of these.

http://sigsauer.us/CatalogProductDetails/1911-22.aspx

It will probably be a little bit before I get it, school starts back next week and she starts a new job Monday, she just graduated in December. We will be pretty busy for a while.

She want it to be pink, so it may be getting some hogue pink grips

The 22/45 falls under the category of "space gun"

you can't make this up.
