I have used the Elites on alot of big bores although leupold is still my favorite but right now with all my dollars going into the business I'm being more frugal. The one on my 458 is still holding but only has about 50rds through it. That gun should be a good tes with 106 lbs of free recoil energy if it's got a week spot it will show up. It is definitely the most violent recoil I've encountered in a handgun even with a brake. I think it's like everything and it's just luck of the draw, anything mechanical can and will fail.
