Thank you for posting this. I have been looking for passive protection that actually works. If you don't mind, could you please post or PM the ones that you actually use?

Took awhile to figure out how to post a pic. Here ya go.

Sure as you bring up a valid point he'll tell you more about 400 yrd groups with 420 grain slugs and show you a coke can or soup can as proof he is right. I think I remember stories of a 2.5" group at something like 500 yards or so with a 44 mag or 45/70 can't remember for sure, wearing a red dot sight having a aiming dot of 2 or 4 MOA. Wanna guess how large that dot is at 500 yrds???

Thanks for the smile Glenn

I've shot Glenn's 475. With Reduced loads of HS6. It is more accurate than a mere mortal like me. One hole groups and end to end exits on deer. I'm not sure what more one would need.

I have a great load using HS-6 for my .475 and it will do close to an inch a 50 yards with a 400 gr boolit. But it still does not equal a slower powder or a heavier boolit in the BFR. But the very best I got from the slower 1 in 18" rate was with a lighter boolit. It would do 1/2" at 50 yards.
Definition of accuracy????
This is what average groups should look like at 50 yards with a variety of boolits from a .475.
One group is not enough and I have shot some that were stupid but I don't show them because they were not average. My groups are based on hundreds of rounds and hundreds of groups shot.
This is a stupid group I shot with a .500 JRH at 50 yards. I will never, ever do it again.
The premise is that if you shoot 3" to 4" groups at 50 and all of a sudden shoot a small group, it does not mean much.
What is average?
I have many stupid groups but they mean nothing. Only repeatable groups count.
