I almost forgot about this "long range quarry" I killed with my shorty .500: a horned doe antelope. They are relatively uncommon, and to spot one in a herd and then concentrate on getting a clean shot can be a real challenge, often times even more challenging than picking out the largest buck. They also make a neat mount. Hunting this doe is shown in my video.

I'm a shorty fan for sure. Now its just a question as to whether or not I jump up to a rifle cartridged handgun to chase the western critters.

Gregg, I really like the pedestal you used on the horned doe. That's really sharp.

That boar was close to 300lb. That was one of those exciting hunts that happened so fast during a snow storm. Used a 280gr SWC-GC that were made by an old expert from PA. He made some beautiful cast bullets...

have taken a couple of whitetail with a 4in gp100 all shots under 50 yards with a 150gr cast hollowpoint.

I use a 4 3/4" FA 83 in 44 mag.
