BTW....very nice pics. They are very useful when applied properly. Sure wish I could have used one to get my elk out back in 2000...that was horrible! Then when I went in 2006 I got tossed by a horse....a quad likely would not have done that!

The misuse (or sometimes in the case of horses maybe more like ABUSE) of anything on earth can result in trouble. Certainly many people have been injured/killed on ATV's also.

When I apply for Outfitter's Insurance I can assure you that when you use horses OR ATV's, the PREMIUM $$$ is just as out of whack (ie. expensive per the RISK FACTOR.)

I have been Blessed as far as my horses go; through-out the many years that I have been in the trail-ride business as well as outfitting, my horses have never hurt anybody; in fact there are several instances where they have HELPED people in trouble.

I bought and sold horses and kept the best ones for a number of years; still it boils down to what most things in life do: common sense and striving for the best and in this case, the SAFEST. Not to mention Horse Handling (which is MORE than horse TRAINING!

AND on a day to day basis.

On any given day I will go and talk to my horses and they will talk back, but my quads won't. And quads won't give any love back, but my horses do.

Maybe I am just way out there. But come here and I will show you. I speak from my heart.

I don't think your out there, I feel the same way or my knot head would be glue instead of a spoiled rotten pasture ornament. He just has an interesting personality and is like an adolescent child, as long as things go his way he's fine but if it dosn't he throws a temper tantrum. I had another horse that used to try and get you in a corner and intimidate you. He and I had many a go round but the knot head won in the end by dying on me. I showed the horse to a family with a little girl and she fell in love with the horse and they were going to buy him, the next morning we found him stiff as board from an aneurysm, try explaining that to a little girl that had her heart set on getting a horse. I still cuss that sob.

As one who grew up around horses, rode them my entire life, broke, trained and competed on them ---- my hat is off to Gregg & folks like him who take nonhorsemen horseback into the mountains. He obviously is very selective in choosing the horses that he keeps for this purpose.

Well if this works this is a picture of my quad. The tracks are winter only so I put my wheels back on it for the summer. I use it for ice fishing in the winter and hunting in the fall. I aggree they are a pain in the a_ _ while trying to hunt and someone is tearing up the countryside with them. I do ride some in the off season but usually only use it for recoveries during hunting season. I love to still hunt so it usually stays in the truck till I have something to recover.

I wish I could afford a set of tracks. Sweet rig.

when I was living in Central Oregon I almost bought a Tucker Snow Cat and if I move back I still might. I found several in the 4K range which is half of a regular atv and it has a heated cab and carries passengers.
