Bipod, monopod, or shooting sticks?
What do you prefer? I watched the YouTube video on the bipod shooting sticks and was impressed with the demo. If I'd been there I'd have bought them

I used a telescoping bipod from Cabela's. Works well for about any position when adjusted to the proper length. Use it mostly when still hunting since this is when I'm most likely to get caught away from a tree or good rest when game is spotted....have it in my left hand and the handgun of choice in my right hand.

I've used a bipod more than anything else, but on my last bison hunt, a friend was carrying a Primos tripod with 3 legs that individually deployed when you squeezed a trigger. The legs fell until they hit something. In other words, these were excellent to use on uneven ground. Fast and dependable. I later used them to take my bison.

I use a mono pod simply because its what I have. I wish I would have bought a bipod. The single pole is probly the easiest to carry, and the quickest to deploy, but for longer shots its not steady enough alone. When I'm sitting, it works pretty good to lock it between my knees, or ill try to find a tree to lean it against. The tree thing works the best.
For shorter shots, at revolver ranges, its pretty good.
I will be buying a bipod or tripod eventually.

I use a bi-pod about 100% of the time when I am shooting prone.
This is with MOA Maximums and bolt action specialty pistols.

I have shooting sticks and a mono but I'm looking at getting a bi pod. The sticks work great but mine are home made and slow. The Mono is fast and easy but as was said not that great for long shots. So now it's time for a try with an attachable Bi-pod. I was thinking about the kind that swivel so you can follow the game as they move. ANY thoughts on those?

So now it's time for a try with an attachable Bi-pod.
The only real beef I have with them is that once you zero with one on, you have to keep it on there or your POI will be affected.

I like a heavy camra tripod/stand with a sand bag on top. I the field I use said above, a sand bag on a 2X4 in my tree stand or a sand bag on my hunting pack. In short, it works for me. I like it because I shoot from the bench with a sand bag. You just need to find what works for you... LOL

When hunting from the ground I use the Bog-Pod tripod.

When the ground is bare I use a mounted bi pod, when we have snow and I am out predator hunting I switch to shooting sticks. They are just homemade, but work fairly well. I take a 3/4 " white PVC pipe make two sections about 4' long, a piece of innertube about 12" long and 3" wide, fold over the ends about 3 inches or so, use a hole punch, punch both layers and slide it over the pipe and Voila! It offers enough resistance to hold it steady, yet you can force it lower if need be.
