Another stinkin' Ruger Super Blackhawk followed me home yesterday! Aarrghhh!! It's just terrible. It's a blued 7.5" .44 Magnum...nothing really special but just a very clean and rarely used handgun...there is barely a line around the cylinder. I guess if the price is right I'll buy about anything...almost had a Taurus Millenium Pro 9mm but the deal on the Ruger was better.

I know the feeling dan, my inventory includes 3 supers, 2 custom bh, 4 bh, 3 single sixes, and 1 vaquero. I would own more but I got distracted by the new smith and wessons and my recent introduction to contenders, for some reason my wife won't let me buy more black hawks and s&ws' and contender barrels, she makes me choose, it just aint fair.

they say you can't have too much of a good thing....and i tend to agree !! those guns are just so indestructable and useful, you need at least 10 or 12 of 'em. hey dan, just get ya an inside-the-waistband holster for that thing and have at it. might need a pretty bulky coat and ya might not be able to sit down. but, if you ever have to skin that thing on somebody.....man, they will run for the hills !!!!

I just found a problem with this gun that I've not had with a SA Ruger before. I was shooting it this evening and can not get the bullets to hit POI. With the rear sight all the way down it still hits 6" high at 25 yards using a practice load (240gr bullet at 800fps). With hunting loads (320gr @ 1350fps) it is WAY high! What do I do??

Wow, that sounds like a pretty neat shop!! Do they sell Men's guns there too? I really don't think your Ruger has a problem. It was probably one of those special edition long-range models designed for IMSA! Sounds to me like you or Stush are going to be doing some front site work-was the front blade ever replaced or does it look stock? Remeber that old Latin sauing-caveat emptor!! Although, I'd have bought it too if I liked Rugers as much as you do. Actually, the next SWPA Handgun shoot should include more revolver shooting (NO BFR's TONY!! ) That might be fun.

Dan, I ran into that once and found that the sight was a "high" sight. compare the rear sight blade to your other rugers and see if it is the same or if it is taller. you may just need to get a standard height blade from brownells or ruger.

Gerry...yes they do sell men's guns! That's why I bought one! Then I saw something that made me think of you...they had a gun there that looked like it would fit you perfect...not sure who makes it but it was one of those "cute" pink stocked single shot .22LR rifles. It would have fit in my pocket but I figured you would need a sling to carry it around!

The front blade looks like it may be a HAIR shorter than the ones on my other 7.5" guns...but it would not take much to turn into a few inches. The rear blade looks the same as my other guns.

I'm going to try turning the rear sight balde into a V-notch which will effectively make it shorter. Then I'm going to put a gold bead toward the top edge of the front sight. I'll see how much that changes things before I go ordering stuff. Thanks.
