any savage guys use this yet?

http://www.tonysforendsandgrips.net/10.html

I have a striker coming in the next month. it has a .243 win and a custom shilen 6BRX barrel. I am not fond of the center grip guns and was going to get one of these stock and install a rifle trigger. just wanted to see if anyone had run them yet.

thanks Tyler

Can I ask a dumb question? What's the rationale behind the left-handed bolt on the action? So you don't have to swap hands to cycle the action?

Yes and it even works fine on a rifle unless you wrap up in a sling.

I wouldn't want to let go of the forestock on a rifle.

When it comes to bolt-action SP's, a left-handed action (bolt on left side) is easier for a right-handed person to use.

The XP's (RH action) is easier for lefty's (like me to use).

it looks like ill be ordering a stock when I get the cash. anyone have any experience with the 6BRX in a handgun length barrel. I know the person who chambered this one has multiple bench guns chambered for it and I have shot them. they use less powder than the .243 and are matching or beating its speed.

I have a couple XP's and strikers. I had the XP's first and developed a technique to cycle the bolt and load them quick and efficent being right handed. The striker are a little newer to me and I'm still getting use to the left bolt. I'm sure it will come in time, but the right bolt is easier for me.

It surely makes good sense for a pistol. You don't have the luxury of jamming that buttstock into your shoulder to keep things lined up as you cycle. That's one reason I like break actions. Never been partial to a bolt in any gun actually. If I were to buy a rifle today, it'd be a lever gun, and given our relatively short distance shots here in VA, probably in .44 mag. May as well make those reloading dies count!
