Anybody used any of the Swift A-frames in revolver calibers on deer, etc? Curious how they perform compared to Nosler partitions since they're going out/out of production for the moment???

I've tested the 300gr .44/.429 Swift A-frame in wet newsprint only. It works about as well as the 300gr XTP in terms of terminal ballistics; good expansion, big hole in the media and penetration of about 50cm/20". In my revolver it is very easy to keep three shots within 2" @100 yards with this bullet. I have the impression that the inherent accuracy is better than in the XTP, but there are two caveats: in the first place, the A-frame has only one cannelure which is located about where the first (non-magnum) cannelure is on the XTP, which means that with heavy loads of a powder that demands space (like VV N110) it's easy to compress the charge too much. Using H110 solves this problem. The second caveat is that the A-frame is about three times as expensive as the XTP and I don't think it is three times better.
