I took my new 22 revolver to the range the other day
and fired numerous rounds from bench position to discover it shoots about 6 inches to the left.
The manufacturer told me they do not adjust front sights nor do they have instructions for adjusting the front sight... but they could adjust the barrel.
My internet research on adjusting front sights scared the crap out of me! Some suggested removing the sight and bending it while others said bend the puppy. After talking with the manufacturer again and finding out they would replace the front sight if I broke it while bending it... I went for it.
Locked the barrel in a vise with leather grips and using my Vise grips locked on an aluminum wrapped sight for protection...
I gave it a shove to the left.
Test fired it at the range... WOW, now only 3 inches to the left!
Came home, repeated the 'adjustment process' and will take it to the range and test fire it tomorrow.
Right now the front sight looks weird... there is a noticeable lean to the left... kind of suggests that the barrel needs some serious adjustment?
What do you think?
Mike

Ya, not a big fan of bending the sight. I also believe the barrel needs adj. Send it back,

What brand gun is it?

Sounds like the barrel needs to be turned a smidge. Send it in with a deatiled description of what's going on.

If you have a really competent gunsmith in the area he might be able to turn the barrel. Or mill in a dovetail for a front sight that's windage adjustable .

I returned it to Heritage... they received it 8/31 and today they told me it should be shipped back by the end of this week with a new barrel and front sight! Great Customer Service!
Will post my test firing/sighting-in results sometime the week after... I've got my fingers crossed!

I sure hope I can be forgiven for posting on this great site...
after reading all the great info/posts over the last few weeks... I realize I am truly someone who knows nada/squat/nunca/absolutely nothing!
WOW! You people sure know your hand guns and ammo!
Thanks! I have learned more in the last few weeks than I ever expected! Hopefully I'll be able to contribute some helpful info to others that are just starting out on a limited budget. Thanks!
Mike
