U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday
and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms
sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said
gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State
Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush 's
administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that
national controls were better.

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All
Firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to
force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens
through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By
signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration
can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process
in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties,
all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign
governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by
organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George
Soros and Michael Bloomberg . The laws are designed and intended to lead
to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun
control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US
citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the
public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation
(in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while
cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is
committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control
laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that
there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in
Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States
has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers
from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find
that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm
ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that
the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any
firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction
center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health
care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever
means necessary, so will gun control.

Please forward this message to others who may be concerned about the
direction in which our country is headed.

We are being led like a lamb to the slaughter (Socialism/Dictatorship).

Cause it is old news, and not on the docket right now. Such a treaty would have to pass the senate and they know that would be hopeless. Good to stay alert tho. They will try and try and try.

I got a copy of this givin to me at work and took it to all the local sporting goods stores. I got the same response from all of them as what s4s4u said. I am not trying to start a fight or anything but I want to say one thing. What if this is not a joke and what if what it says is true that it can be passed without going through publics eyes. What if this is the best warning we can get until we wake up one day and it is passed. I know we are alwasy posting stuff that say write to our senators to stop this. Well most of the time when I write to my senators they send me back an email telling me that what I am against will be a good thing for us in the future and good for our country. Well I am calling bullshit. Sorry for the language but I am getting tired of sending in and getting a pisspoor automated response. We all keep saying we need to wake up and stand up and do something but are we going to wait to do that till it is to late? I personally want to stand up and do something but the only thing I know to do is vote and I just dont feel like that is enough anymore. I would love to hear of some things or ideas of what other people are doing or want to do. I am not all that smart but I dont want to get to the point where I am saying I wish I would have done something. Sorry for the long speal I just cant stand some of the crap that is coming down in this country or atleast being thought of.

The european union was forced/voted into the nations who joined ,without the consent of the population of those countries .It is a very real threat and can be put into place without going through the senate.With the patriot/treason act,everyone of us,law abiding ,gun owning citizens are considered a domestic/terrorist threat.The european union has already divided the world into ten kingdoms,even though it hasn't been activated yet(check it out if you don't believe me) for those of us who are Christians,we really need to be praying for this country of ours,we have a muslim president who holds this office illegally wanting to have a mosque placed at ground zero in New York and a crescent memorial-this is already in place, in the field where flight 93 crashed,so what I'm saying ,its in our face and the average American ,either can't see all this happening around them or what I believe,their too scared and don't want to believe what their seeing,so they do nothing.I have a Pastor friend who has a very close friend in the F.B.I. and when the Pastor talked to him about this mess we're in the agent told him he couldn't disclose information,but if the American people knew what their government had in store for them they would have an uprising immediately,this was 5 years ago,when you have a supreme court justice being put into place ,who is anti- Christian,anti-gun,you should realize that this isn't by mistake but intentional.Lou Dobbs started way back telling Americans our country was being taken from us and too many of the big mouths on t.v. and radio saying he was a nut,now people are starting to listen but how far are we from the edge of the cliff?!We just really need to pray because I believe God is the only One who can turn this around-johnw.

I think that if Obama really wants to destroy this nation with an international gun ban, he's going to have a heck of a fight on his hands. I don't see the gun owning vast majority in this country just giving up their firearms because a very disliked pres says so. It's not going to be pretty if it does happen, and he won't last long at all. just my 2 cents.

Fellows, I feel the same way. But stop and think for a moment. If the SWAT or military shows up with vests & automatic weapons, we do not have much chance -- one on one --- with them. And it will be there group against us individually. That is the issue. The political process is a much better choice.

Wtroper, maybe for the first one... as soon as we as an American people find out about it, they are going to have blood baths on thier hands... AND they know it!!! More importantly, I know some people in the military that will resign their commission if they ever get asked to do such an act. They know it will be the start of another civil war...

I agree with TC. Here in OK, I can't see the state or local police forces, or even the state legislators even complying with such a demand. When it comes down to it, the states are going to refuse and reject such stupidity. The U.S.A is a gun culture that's far beyond such an extreme demand from people who are nothing more than game show hosts. they can try, but I don't think they'll get far with it.
