contender 22LR barrel

I am looking for a 22LR barrel for my contender. Was thinking 12 inches. Was wondering about barrel preference. Is octagon, bull,or
tapered better in this caliber? Any experience or recommendations?

I prefer a bull barrel, a little more forward weight is always welcome. Helps to keep me steady, and I'll take all the help I can get. Plus, they just look cooler to me.

I have the bull barrel/10 inch match,the bull barrel,at least for me,balances better for those offhand shots.

I have the "super 14" barrel and love it.

My Contender barrel in 22LR is a 12 inch bull with match chamber from Bullberry.

When I first got this barrel(early 90s) I tried several different brands & loads, before settling on CCI Green Tags. Anymore I just shoot the cheap bulk pack Federals from Wal-Mart. Last weekend I was looking at some old 100 yd targets shot with the Federals, groups ran from .6-1.1 inch.I love hunting squirrels with this barrel,when they are cutting hickory nuts.
