Anyone have an idea of velocity out of a 18" barrel using the Hornady 200grn. Round is 460. They are saying 2200 fps, but what length barrel did they use for that. I am awaiting my barrel right now from MGM, just trying to get some idea. When it is all said and done, I wiil shot through a chrony.

Being the 460 is primarily a handgun cartridge they would have used a handgun, it seems that 7-1/2" is what I see on most literature. I think I saw where someone was getting around 2,500 from a 15" Encore, over at SP.

I wonder how much of that came from simply having a longer barrel and how much (if any)is because there is no pressure loss on the encore where a revolver may lose some between the magazine and barrel...
