I was talking to an industry insider the other day and although it is second hand information and I can't confirm it I think it's worth throwing out for you guys to hear if it ends up being false then great but I tend to think it's true. You may have noticed reloading components are slowly becoming available again except for one thing that is still really hit and miss and that is the primers. According to the individual I spoke to the government has restricted the shipment of primers. This person as I said is in the industry and said that they have plenty of primers in warehouses but the government is controlling the number they can ship in a given time period making primer shipments erradic at best. I've been able to find some although I've had pay 50.00 per 1000 and I've been tagged as much as 35.00 for a pound of RL19 but that of course is just price gouging. While out of town for a Dr. appointment I hit several shops and scrounged 2lbs of IMR 4198 and 2lbs of H110 and that was at two different stores and that was all they had. The other powder I use alot of is H4895 but so far out here I haven't found it either because it was scooped up before I got there or in the case of my local store they haven't been able to get any Hodgdon stuff aside from Pyrodex.

It is nice to see some powder on the shelf of my local Bi-Mart and Sportsman Warehouse (or what ever it is called now). Bi-mart is limiting purchases of primers to 4 boxes or 400 primers per trip. That's OK at least now I can get some even if they are not my brand of choice. I was paying $5 per hundred but Bi-mart has the for $3.40. I'm down in 4350 and 5744 but I've found substitutes with R-15, R-19 and other pistol powders to replace the 5744.

I guess I'll be buying 5 or 8 pound kegs when I start seeing them again.

Dang, Rod. Not sure I can swallow all that gov't control stuff. At least not yet. I'm not doubting you, maybe the source. I dunno, I've heard all kinds of crap and don't know what to believe anymore. If the Gov't can't control gas prices how can they control other free markets? But what do I know.

Now that O-Care is thru they will have more time to screw with our rights.

Like I said I'm not sure either but just read the ATF regs for FFL holders and you'll be in shock at what they control. You are basicly signing away your constitutional rights once you take possession of an FFL.
