What is the deal with the availability of this scope? I'm building my 30-06 Encore and decided to go with this scope but no one has it... may have to go with the regular Nikon EER.

I've not heard of a Nikon Encore, but a member has a Monarch in the classifieds:

Thanks... I went ahead and bought an EER already. The Encore is the same scope with a BDC reticle.

I think I remember hearing they were having problems with the encore and pulled it.

I have a Nikon Encore on my Smith 460. Initially the scope gave me fits. However the people at Nikon worked with me and now that it is zeroed in I am more than happy with it. It would not surprise me that they pulled the scope.

I was not able to get the scope sighted in. I ran out of elevation adjustment while hitting 8 inches high at 100 yards. The people at Nikon were fantastic and made every effort to get things worked out. They made things right for me.
