Son took me to a gun show and out to eat for my birthday Sat.Came home with a couple of new toys. A Gerber Ease Out folding knife to replace my worn out one[lotta years, miles, and use. I also found a 10 in. stainless Encore barrel by Gary Reader in 410 GNR , Mini Beast, with dies,Burris base and rings,150 C P 250 gr g c L B T bullets 400 primers 100 formed brass[454 Cassuel necked to 41 and a load book. IT FOLLOWED ME HOME. Loaded 55 cases up with 28 gr 28.5, 29 gr WW 296 and a 250 gr cast. 10 more with 31 gr 296 and a 210 gr sierra jacketed Hp. It didn't shoot any of the lead bullets well at all, but it really shines with the 210 gr Sierra hp. My old wrists are glad its got a brake.

My son and I shot 56 rounds last Sunday over a period of about 4 hrs. It didn't like any of the Cast bullet loads I tried with 28, 28.5,29 gr ww 296 and a cast performance 250 gr bullet, seated long or short . It came to life with a Sierra 210 gr HP and 31 gr of 296 seated long, just to the base of the neck. Reeders load book only lists two powders w w 296 and a a-9 . 28 to 30 gr 296 with 250 cast and 30 to 32 with the 210 gr jacketed. The 32 gr load shows 1800 fps from a 6 in revolver so 31 should be close if not over that from a 8 in Encore plus 2 more inches of barrel with the brake.Would like to find some data for H S- 6 or 2400 powder .The work is just starting and will continue.
The W W 296 load with sm pistol mag primers smoked like a freight train pulling upgrade.
