FRANCHISE: A LONG TIME AGO, POSSIBLY IN THE LATTER PART OF THE 20th CENTURY, I HAD A SUPER REDHAWK IN 44 MAG BUT THE SCOPE WOULD SLIP IN THE RINGS AND THE RINGS WUD LOOSEN UP FROM THE BASE, SINCE THEN I HAVE NEVER WANTED TO TRY A RUGER SRH OR A BH HUNTER, ALTHOUGH I SEE THAT A LOT OF GUYS USE THEM (AND DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THEM). MAYBE NOW THAT I KNOW ABOUT THE WARNE RINGS I MAY GIVE A SRH A TRY.

Rey, I guarantee that a scope won't slip in the Warne rings...they are tough as nails....I have only 2 Warne rings on my 416 Barnes Competitor and I've had no issues with scope slippage.

All it takes to keep a scope from slipping in ruger rings are ?friction pads?.... simply sticky back label placed inside ring halves. Have had a redhawk since about 1987, thats had nothing but maximum 240gr loads thru it. also have a Ruger sbh bisley hunter. Ruger rings are great imo.

I had issues with the Ruger rings that shipped with my gun. I did not lap them and they were harsh on the tube of my UltraDot to put it lightly. I chalked that up to me not doing my due diligence, but decided I wouldn?t use them again.

Whilst I have a Weigand base that I trust with small light weight stuff, I wanted the Warnes as I?m about to install a scope. I?ll post a pic once it?s done.
