What handguns are you guys planning on using this year?
This hunting season has the potential for a lot of elk in the freezer. Drew two cow tags, and may get to go after a bull as well. Buck antelope tag, with two doe tags, and one whitetail doe tag. Deer (Whitetail or mule deer) I can get over the counter for where I would hunt.
Also looking for some whitetail and pigs after the first of the year.
7 Dakota XP and the 44 Mag will be up for elk.
May pull out a MOA for deer or antelope. The 6.5 Creed Dominator is going to get to play too for sure.

Squirrels with a Ruger Mark II, then deer with the CVA Optima, 460, 41 Magnum, and the 300 Encore if all else fails. If the trend I've noticed continues, this year we won't have many big bucks, so I can focus on filling the freezer from the get go.

If I get drawn for the East Tennessee elk hunt, I'll be packing my 300 Encore and 41 Magnum.

I drew a bighorn ewe tag. As always my interests can change from moment to moment when deciding what gun to hunt with. I'll often plan to use one gun and practice all summer with it only to be in the mood for another gun when season rolls around. I've actually changed my mind the night before a hunt and carried a different gun than I had planned.

Right now I'm leaning toward using a 10" 44 mag Contender. When season arrives who knows. It could be a revolver, lever action or muzzleloader. I practice regularly with all of them so I'm always ready for a mood change! Other than that I'll just be deer hunting unless I draw for a damage hunt.

Good luck on your elk draw Chance!

I didn't get drawn for anything in CA or OR. Will take my Blackhawk 45 colt with me for general season blacktail and bear, or possibly my GP100 357 if I can figure out what is up with my Burris FF2.

For whitetail deer here in IL I will be using either my Encore with a 9" MGM barrel in 357 mag and a red dot sight or my chopped 5" SRH in 44 mag, with an UltraDot red dot.

I drew a bear tag for bear in Minnesota this year, but plan to use my Ruger Guide Gun for this.

My Smith Victory is ready to go for squirrels. It has a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot.

pab1,
Is this your first time to draw a tag for a Bighorn, ewe or ram?
I have never applied for Bighorn or Mountain Goat.

I've drawn ewe tags in the past. I only put in for ewes since I don't have the patience to put in for rams and possibly never draw. You can draw ewe tags fairly often. All the fun of sheep hunting without the pressure of a possible once in a lifetime tag.

This is the first year I stopped putting in for goats. I don't think my knees will handle a goat hunt anymore. It might be my last sheep hunt too. Here is a link to a recent post I did which shows the ewes I took on previous hunts.

Squirrels, just squirrels till deer season gets here. Got a Smith 617 a GP100 and a Taurus Tracker just itchin' to get in the squirrel woods, but it's hotter than the hubs of hell. Maybe in the morning though, only supposed to be 85 around here tomorrow.

Whitetails, hogs, turkey this year. My primary will be my Raging Bull in .44. But I also expect to bring out my new Encore .308 at some point.
