I don't think it fully comes down to recoil, blast etc. I know I don't mind a good palm smacking, but I perfer my 44 special above all. A lot smaller package.

That's the main reason I sold all of my encores and contenders. I perfer packing a wheel gun. I'm even on the fence about selling my 10" bfr for the same reason.

That's the cool thing about handgun hunting, you shoot what you like. If you like recoil and power, do it...if you don't, dont 😉.....it's all a personal preference.....if you're a big bore, ultra power guy, shoot big bore ultra powerful guns. If you are not a fan of them, cool! 😁😎👍🏻 I just think it's really cool that this small framed young lady can shoot all these big guns, and never complain

I think Max described the 500 S&W as being too big, too heavy, too much recoil, and too much muzzle blast (from Guns Digest 2018 chapter on 50 Caliber handguns)..doubt he'd like a round that had a lot more of all the above mentioned qualities

You are exactly correct; Max was covering revolver rounds, not bottle-neck rifle rounds.

Gregg, I bought your video when it first came out. I believe your 30-06 JDJ is on the cover right?

And here I thought my 300 Win Mag setup was a kicker. That looked brutal.

Try shooting a light weight (DeMax frame) 50 Alaskan shooting a 525 grain bullet just under 1600 FPS. I can assure you that it has plenty of recoil.

The 14 year old in the video did a great job shooting the Nitro She handled the recoil without trying to ove4 power it.
