How do you like that Rubber grip on the 500 WE ?

CT, Not so much.... With heavy loads the FA`s micarta grips are much easier on my hand. The Pachmayr came with the Field Grade 500 and I was able to switch the grips with my 41... They were a very close fit and better for my shooting hand....

Sounds like a great hunt James, thanks for the report. Never shot a hog before, but there is something about those Russians that just makes me want to go hunt them. Going to have to just do it some day.

Great hunt James and thanks for sharing. A word of caution though, the 454 load of 27.5 gr #9 and 300 gr Swift locked up my FA and blew out primer pockets. I used Federal 200 primers and Starline once fired brass and had to pound the cases out of the cylinder. I've noticed significant differences between lots of #9, so working up cautiously to max loads with this powder is of course necessary.

SW, That's exactly the same components I used except my primer was a Remington 7 1/2.... What the hell happened there???
