Of all the jacketed bullets out there for the 44 Magnum, does anyone know which bullet manufacturer has the thickest jacket.

YOU ARE ASSUMING THAT A MANUFACTURER'S JACKET THICKNESS DIMENSIONS DO NOT VARY, WHICH MAY BE A VERY BIG ASSUMPTION.

Don`t know much about this but I do know jackets vary in how the copper is made... Swift and Speer bullets run slower then XTP from same gun with same handload... Whether the thickness also causes them to run slower I don`t know.... This sounds like something JWP may be able to answer...

While looking for info on the Frontier brand plated bullets for .454 Casull made in South Africa, I came across this photo
From left: 390CSGR, 370Frontier, 325gr Swift A frame, 300gr Hornady mag, 300gr Sierra and 300gr Speer. The standout thing for me was how massive the Swift jacket was compared to the rest.

The article in full is at http://www.calibros.com/frontier390/bullets%20for%20big5.htm

As suggested by others, the fact that a particular brand and model had a particular thickness at one point in time, doesn't mean it continues to be made to the same specification. Indeed this may explain the different results members have had with the XTPs.
