Craig44,

What bullet, weight and velocity were you running the MBW bullets when the came apart? I'm looking to run the 315gr. in a 445SM about 1300/1500 ish fps and really like to hear real world experience from people who have used products which I plan on using. Thank you.

Change out the front sight and make it a taller and that will allow the use of open sights. Also, you can get a higher rear sight blade to replace the one you already have installed. Hi-Viz has a formula page to help figure out the height of sight you need for your revolver. Bowen Classic Arms has a rear sight replacement that may help. Google this topic and you will find what you need to shoot what you wish.

I think you may have posted in the wrong thread Jeff.

I made it home from work and found a package in the mailbox from Montana Bullet Works! My new 315gr. WLN-GC bullets have arrived for my 445 SuperMag. I loaded one up just to check it out and it sure does look mean and sexy sitting on the 445 SM brass! Hopefully I'll be able to slip away this weekend and send some down range. I would put up a picture, but I think you may have to have a high degree in order to do that. . .very complicated.

Thanks, Jeff. I could change the sights. I like the gold bead front sight I have from Ruger so I would want to have a similar one. I am not a fan of the light tubes and other glowing front sights. I prefer good old black patridge front sights but I thought I would see how the gold bead works. Nostalgic from the old Ed McGivern and Elmer Keith days.

Rattlesnakelorax I got a tall Ed McGivern for my 6.5 inch 500 S&W from Brownell's. I had JRH Advance Gunsmithing install it instead of the steel red ramp that it came with. It has a LARGE gold bead that is very easy to see!!!

I was responding to the problem of getting the Hammerhead 310 grain hard cast to print a group where the poster wanted it to. It was shooting too high with the rear sight adjusted as far as it could go. So I suggested a taller front sight to help correct that problem. I got a response from him.

Thanks again. That taller gold bead front sight sounds like a winner. I may just stick with the Federal Barnes 250 to see how they perform on deer. Those Hammerheads were 365 grain so no wonder I couldn't adjust my sights down far enough. Crazy how high those loads were hitting even compared to 300 grain Swift A frame loads. I will check out the sight you recommend if I want to go back to the Hammerheads.
