got a last minute chance to do another Doe Hunrt. I really did not have much time and would be back tracking to make a go of it. I packed the 45 Ruger again and used the same old load. When I got to the ranch, I found out 2 other hunters would be in my neck of the woods too. this made me a little nervous but tried to work it to my advantage. One of the hunters, killed a doe from a herd of about 10 in number. As we walked out to inspect and admire it, I noticed one doe had stopped. Loping along, and had just stopped with her back to us.
Thank You Sixshot,,,, for teaching me the next trick. I told the two hunters to stay still and let me see what would transpire. I cocked the hammer and placed my thumb between the hammer and pistiol to keep it ready and safe. Sure enough the doe turned and headed straight for me. once she got about 45 yes, she turned and give me a broadside. So I raised the gun and hit her, just a little high. Upsetting to say the least, and she simply walked towards the trees. One of the guys, swearing I hit her and me just swearing in my head. That doe stopped next to a tree that was forked with the two trunks offering a small window to correct my first shot. It happened at 60yds, with a better shot that left no doubt to the outcome, and sure enough when tried to run, it lasted about 15yds and she dropped. This left me determined that I am going to practice more, especially offhand only. Both shots were offhand, but the first one I may have rushed, but will claim no excuses. Just better practice more and stay better prepared.
I am not at home and had to do a six hour drive, after field dressing. My camera batteries died from the twenty degree weather. So I had to wait till the following day to take Pics from a borrowed cell phone. The deer was starting to freeze being in the truck, but having a tounnu cover helped.. I am doing this off someone's notebook. I will get pics posted later.

Sorry to be dense but I don't understand what the trick was. Did you do something to get the doe to turn and come back?
